There’s no moment more beautiful than the one when you bring your new born baby home.
As a newborn baby photographer I am trained to capture those memories forever. Capture all those tiny details before your little bundle of joy starts to grow! And they grow fast!
Whether you want pictures of your new family all together or just of your tiny new addition I can take whichever combinations you need.
So what are the most common questions that I get asked about newborn photography sessions…
How long does a newborn baby photography session last?
The photoshoot will take anywhere from one hour up to four depending on how settled your baby is on the day. Most of all I can do this in the comfort of your own home, so if you’re not up for leaving the house you don’t need to. Your baby can stay settled in his/her own surroundings and I will bring everything I need to take the photographs. All I need is enough natural daylight to create beautiful natural light photos.
Alternatively you can visit my home studio (advantages are a comfy sofa and a home from home feel) or the studio space I rent in the centre of Epsom in the Ebbisham Centre for a studio experience. In both these locations I will use studio lights and have space to show you all the props and accessories I have available. For photo session in your own home I will chat to you in advance and bring the props and accessories to suit your style.
When is it best to have a newborn baby photos taken?
The ideal time to photograph newborn babies is between 5-10 days old. It is best to photograph them whilst they are sleeping. Ideally babies should be well fed and due a sleep at the start of the session but in case they are not settled there is plenty of time for feeding and settling you precious little bundle during the session.
When should I book?
I recommend booking once you’ve had your 20 week scan. When you book let me know your due date and I will add you to my diary. The exact session date will be arranged once your baby has been born.
What should I dress my baby in for a baby photoshoot?
I have an array of props, wraps and accessories. I will ask you your colour preferences when booking so that I can tailor an image to your home decor. Should you wish to hang your images as a canvas or print I want them to blend seamlessly with the colour tones in your home. Unless you have an item you specifically want your baby to wear there is nothing you specifically need to bring.
