Newborn & Baby Photography Surrey
Beautiful Little Moments is one of Surrey’s leading baby photography providers. I am proud to be a member of BANPAS (Baby and Newborn Photography Association). Being a newborn and baby photographer requires a unique set of skills and BANPAS is a worldwide organisation that exists to support photographers like me, who want to have access to safety training and resources that we can use to provide clients like you with a better service.
When to schedule a baby photography session?
The ideal time to photograph newborn babies is between 5-10 days old. It is best to photograph them whilst they are sleeping. While your baby this small they are very sleepy and flexible which allows me to safely and comfortably pose your baby in the beautiful dreamy sleepy poses that are so popular.
The best next milestones to capture are; 12 weeks-16 weeks for a variety of expressions and lots of smiles, Sitting Up & 12 Months for the special 1st birthday milestone.
How far in advance should I book?
NEWBORN BABY PHOTOS – The best time to book your session is once you’ve had your 20 week scan. I will set a provisional date in the diary and amend it once baby arrives. Babies can arrive up to two weeks early or late and I will be flexible with your booking around your date. To ensure I can always accommodate my new born photography bookings I only ever book 4-5 newborn sessions per month. Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.
If your gorgeous little baby has already arrived please do get in touch as I often have last minute availability due to early and late arrivals.
BIGGER BABIES, SITTERS & 1ST BIRTHDAY SESSIONS – These sessions are only 2 hours long and can generally be slotted into the diary within 3-4 weeks.
What is a Newborn/Baby Session like?
I make your session a lovely experience to remember, it is very relaxed and enjoyable, Your baby is in very safe, experienced hands. My priority is the safety and comfort of your baby and to make you feel as relaxed as possible. For many clients coming to my studio is often their first trip out of the house. I appreciate that this can be very nerve wracking for new mums and dads. I also offer home visits so that you can feel comfortable and not have to leave the house in those early days.
Newborn sessions are typically 2-4 hours in duration but can last longer if baby takes a while to feed & settle. For this reason I always book out the whole day in my diary.
Sitting baby sessions are typically only 1-2 hours long.
I want you to have images that you love. I discuss styling and colours with you before the photoshoot and I have a selection of backdrops, props and accessories that will compliment your taste.
Once your baby is fed and sleeping I will capture your baby in as many different poses and set ups as I feel baby is comfortable with. I never pose a baby in a position they are not happy to go into. A safe happy baby is always paramount. If a baby does not want to be swaddled and will not settle to sleep in a traditional pose I will photograph the baby in a more natural lifestyle session, awake and if necessary in your arms. A big part of the session is the parent & baby images and family set ups. Nothing creates a more emotive image than a new parent holding their new baby.
A full newborn baby photo session including family portraits costs just £99.
Digital and print packages are available to purchase after you have viewed your gallery of images. For a list of available packages and products available please view my newborn photography pricing page
Newborn and Baby Photography Sessions can be held in the comfort of your own home, at my home close to the centre of Epsom, Surrey or at a studio in Epsom town centre.
