Here's a list of everything I'll be using to create the 24 days Kiddy Creative Advent Calender.
I've put affiliate links to Amazon because we have Amazon Prime and it was simple and easy just to put everything in one basket and checkout, definitely the most time efficient way to stock up.
However there are lots of other places you can shop, eBay & The Works can be great places to have a look.
A note on eBay... I use eBay a lot of craft items but a word of caution, some things are shipped from Hong Kong/China and can take up to 60 days to arrive so double check the estimate arrival dates before you check out.
Kiddy friendly paints & Glue
are required for some crafts & I've not included Amazon links to these as I'm not sure which ones are child friendly. We get our from The Works or Wilko.
We've got some that we've collected in the local park. You can buy them but keep your eyes peeled out and about and I'm sure you'll find some
Yep, the good old loo roll. I can remember wishing my mum kept more of these for Blue Peter type crafts but we never had enough.
We'll be making paper roll snowmen/Santas & Reindeers on 23rd & Paper Roll snowflakes on 14th so start saving up your rolls!
Sticky dots for eyes & other things.
I've included a few different options, if you do lots of crafts some of the bigger packs might be a better buy for you.
It can be good to have slightly larger white circles and then smaller black ones for making eyes but you can just use simple small black dots for eyes too.
You can also use the goggle eyes too!
If you'd rather use stickers than pompoms for Rudolphs nose & stickers rather than jewels & glitter to decorate the trees then a multi-colour pack might be a better buy.
For the Sparkly Jewel Christmas Tree card (Day 2)
My daughter loves making things with sparkly jewels. Sainsbury's has a great tub of jewels.
There's also these ones on Amazon:
Another that my daughter loves! We don't use it too often or we'd go through tonnes of the stuff but Christmas seems like a lovely exception for a glittery treat.
Needed for the glitter salt dough ornaments (Day 4)
The glitter Christmas scented playdoh (Day 7)
The paper roll snowflakes (Day 14)
The Pine cone art - glitter optional (Day 21)
You can also use it one the cards and other items as you wish!
Kraft Gift Tags
For the Reindeer Gift Tags (Day 20)
You can also use them on your Christmas Presents.
for Christmas Tree/Gift Tags/Hanging Ornamens& your own Christmas gifts
Note: the gift tags above come with brown twine which you could use for some of these activities
For the cards you can you standard card stock and fold it yourself or you can buy card blanks which are pre folded.
The best advice I have is if you're going to do footprints/handprints take note of the height of the cards.
A6 cards are 148mm in height
A5 cards are 210mm in height.
Blank A5 cards with envelopes: Anita's A5 Card and Envelope, Pack of 25, White
for card making if not buying blanks, for the jewel Christmas tree (green card required) (day 2)
for the paper roll reindeer/santa(or you can paint or colour the roll) (day 23)
Brown card for the paper ball reindeer, accordian reindeer and the hand print reindeer (day 6, 13 &17)
Scrap card/paper to print on and make the scrap paper christmastree (day 3, 10 & 18)
You can of course re-use real lollipop sticks but if you don't have any you can also buy them from many craft stores.
Lolipop sticks are needed for the Reindeer Tree Decoration - 3 per reindeer (Day1) - we've used natural & brown
& 4 for the woven pompom Christmas tree (Day 19) - we've used green but natural would work too
Pipecleaners are needed for:
Antlers on reindeers (Day 1, 13 & 20) - Brown or gold works well.
A red pompom is required for rudolfs nose (Day 1, 2, 6, 13, 17, 20, 23)
For the pom pom christmas tree decorations (Day 19)
You can also red dot stickers instead (see above)
For the stained glass window (Day 16)
For the paper plate santa activity (Day 9)
Also useful for putting paint onto for potato printing & cookie cutter stamping
For the Penguin/Snowman (Day 11) &
Santa Plate (Day 9)
For the Reindeer Hand Craft (Day 13)
(the wone bottle sort)
You can of course collect these and recycle them. They're also not essential.
The corks are used as a base/trunk to make Christmas Trees from but you can also just paint & glitter your cones to make ornaments or paint them and use them for printing.
Day 5: Gingerbread Snowmen - We got ours from sainsbury's and they're the classic gingerbread man shape but you can also get them here:
Day 10: Cookie cutter printing
Day 24: Christmas Cookies
