One of the best things about being a mum is all the wonderful people I get to meet while we’re out and about around Epsom at classes.
At one of our TinyTalk classes I met a lovely mum, Lauren, who was selling books for little ones. Emilie has a small obsession with books and we love to feed her curiosity for them. I asked Lauren if she would give me her opinion on the best books for little ones this Christmas and I wanted to share her amazing insider knowledge into the world of books for little people.
If you’re looking for some lovely gifts this Christmas please give Lauren a call and support a local mum and her business! You can get to know Lauren a bit more later in this post. LAST ORDER DATE FOR GUARANTEED CHRISTMAS DELIVERY – 13 DECEMBER

A little bit about Lauren
My name is Lauren and I am mom to two boys, a full time employee and an independent Usborne organiser. During my most recent maternity leave I started thinking about ways to regain myself – all moms will more than likely understand what I mean. I also wanted to challenge myself. But didn’t put too much thought into it because there wasn’t much time to; other thoughts about naps, foods, nursery pick-ups, etc. always took preference and I knew I would be returning to my “9 to 5” job.
One day while feeding my youngest and browsing FB, as you do, I came across a post about joining an Usborne online party. It was taking place that evening. I clicked “Interested” to get the notification to remind me in case I was available at the time as Usborne has always been my go-to range when buying books for the boys.
I grew up reading books and developed a love for them. This is something I am keen to encourage for my boys too. I have read to them both since tiny and still do. So far it seems to have worked. They both really enjoy story time and “reading” by themselves. My eldest used to always grab the books that were included in the toy box during the play session at TinyTalk classes and ask me to read them to him, while the other children played with the toys.
I landed up being able to attend the online party (whilst feeding my youngest). And bought 5 books! I am still not sure what made me do it but I asked the host “how easy is it to join Usborne?” She responded with the details and the parts that caught my attention were that it was only a small join up fee (£38), there are NO monthly targets and you get plenty of free books along the way as well as purchase the books at a reduced rate.
I became quite excited about the thought of joining up because this seemed like the thing I was looking for (whilst not actually looking). My brain started ticking over with various options and possibilities. I was tempted to sign up there and then because it had seemed pretty easy to run the event. But decided to give it at least a day to sleep on it and discuss with my husband.
I struggled to think of a negative to signing up and soon decided to just go ahead and do it because even if nothing else came of it, I would at least be able to buy books for my boys at a reduced cost (always a bonus).
I am so glad I signed up! I thoroughly enjoy this adventure; knowing that I am assisting more than just my boys to fall in love with books is amazing. It’s helped me with my personal goals to step out of my comfort zone and broaden my skills but most importantly it has given me something of my own to think about but without any additional pressure of targets to hit. And I have met some amazing people along the way.
Plus I love Usborne books even more! There is a wider range than I expected and I wasn’t aware that they sell other items such as jigsaws, flashcards, models to build, baking kits, etc. Also that they cater for young adults as well and not just young children.
If any of this has resonated with you, I would love for us to chat. Together we can get even more books into the hands of even more children.
Don’t forget to quote “Beautiful Little Moments” when contacting me with your book selections to take advantage of the 10% off offer.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
