BEHIND THE SCENES – MY HOME STUDIO
You may have seen many of my photographs of Emilie but what you may not have seen is where I take them and what my home studio space looks like here in Epsom.
I love how open plan our home is and how light and airy it is for photographs. I think the photographer in me wanted to buy this home for all the amazing light it lets in and the mum in me thought it would make a lovely family home for our little girl to run around in as she grew up.
The studio set up seems to have taken up this space on an almost permanent basis. I love having it there so that when I have a chance it’s easy to pick up my camera and capture beautiful little images of our daughter. If I had to set it up each and every time there may have been a few photos that I would just never have gotten around to taking.
Emilie is 10 months old now and I’ve taken a photograph of her every single day. I value photographs so much, they mean a lot to me and it’s why I do what I do. Creating memories that last forever ever. I already forget things she’s done or the way she used to look or how small she used to be. There’s nothing more I love than to flick through her year so far and remember. Such fond memories and also some not so fond ones. I have a great picture of her looking so very unhappy with me and that still makes me smile. It was one of the first moments I could see her little personality starting to form.
The image above shows some of the colourful wraps available for newborns (and the posing beanbag bag underneath, all soft and cosy for sleepy babies). I will have products on display for you to have a look through while you are here as well as refreshments.
